Project Manager and Excutive Administrator

Heidi Wood

Heidi Wood started at Turnstone as an office assistant and, over the years, grew into one of the most essential figures in the company. Today, Heidi is the central point of contact for Turnstone's office and a driving force behind it's operations. She writes the contracts, handles invoicing and insurance, keeps the paperwork moving, and somehow manages the endless details that allow the crews in the field to do what they do.  She knows the business, the people, and the history of Turnstone inside and out. She has accomplished all of this while raising two young children, bringing the same determination and perseverance to her family that she has brought to Turnstone.

Landscape Architect

Andrew Dornan

Andrew Dornan has been an essential part of the Turnstone team for nearly 15 years. A graduate of the University of Washington's Landscape Architecture program, Andrew brings a unique combination of design knowledge, technical expertise, and an almost encyclopedic understanding of how water features actually work. Through CAD, Andrew designs many of the features Turnstone builds, sometimes developing a concept entirely from scratch and other times working closely with clients to turn their ideas into a finished design. He has a talent for taking a vision, whether fully formed or just a starting point, and translating it into a feature that is both visually compelling and mechanically sound.  Andrew also handles much of Turnstone's takeoffs and estimating, as well as the water calculations that are critical to every project we build. Andrew makes sure that the remarkable things Turnstone designs are not only beautiful, but engineered to work.

Principal Advisor

John Fulford

John Fulford founded Turnstone in 1997 after spending years traveling the country building zoo exhibits. Starting with a vision and a passion for creating highly detailed natural environments, John built Turnstone from the ground up into a successful company with a remarkable portfolio of projects throughout the region and beyond. Over the years, John has built lasting relationships with clients, architects, designers, contractors, and industry partners. Many of Turnstone's clients have returned again and again, a reflection of the experience they have had working with the company and the relationships John has cultivated over the years. John has also built something equally important within Turnstone: a team. What began as a small company has grown into a group of highly skilled people who work together more like a family than a typical construction crew. Many of Turnstone's employees have been with the company for 15 years or more creating a depth of experience, shared knowledge, and continuity that is rare in the industry.

Superintendent

Todd Norman

Todd is Turnstone’s ultimate Jack-of-all-trades, bringing a wide range of skills to just about every aspect of what we do. From construction and finishing work to the many unexpected challenges that come with building custom water features.  For a couple of weeks each fall, however, his priorities shift as he heads into the woods, where his legendary “firing from the hip” hunting technique comes into play.  Back at the shop, he’s equally famous for keeping the crew fed with his infamous hotdog roller.
